The pinnacle of service and style resides at this grand hotel in the heart of the city.

An exterior shot of The Peninsula New York

The New York member of this top-of-the-line hotel group is superbly located in a turn-of-the-century, landmark Beaux-Arts building on Fifth Avenue, where the East and West Sides converge. Striking artwork by contemporary artists graces the grand, classically appointed lobby. For afternoon tea or evening cocktails, the streamlined Gotham Lounge is ideal, while the Salon de Ning serves cocktails in an exquisite rooftop setting. House restaurant Clement presents revitalized American cuisine from chef Remi van Peteghem, and the complementary Bar at Clement is a cozy, handsome spot for drinks and Asian-inspired bites.

As in many of the old New York hotels, the 185 rooms are fairly compact, but some have now been combined, and for those who desire more space, there are 54 suites. We especially like the 480-square-foot Grand Luxe rooms that gaze onto Fifth Avenue; other popular rooms take in St. Patrick's Cathedral. Among the amenities, you will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, cordless bathroom phones and built-in TVs above the bathtubs. The bedside electronic control panels are truly a luxury for convenient lighting and temperature regulation, a "privacy" switch and one-touch access to the TV. The Belle Époque-style furnishings include lovely, old-fashioned writing desks. Guests can easily turn their stay into a destination retreat by indulging at the Peninsula Spa, located in the hotel’s top three floors. For meetings and events, spaces feature elegant, residential style.
