A pop art, post-industrial tribute to the Pittsburgh’s eclectic roots.
Industry meets artistry at Fairmont Pittsburgh, where the industrial age of Andrew Carnegie is brought together with the pop influences of Andy Warhol. Housed in a brand new building (which received gold level certification from the United States Green Building Council), this hotel uses Pittsburgh’s eclectic history as its inspiration, incorporating dramatic steel features and local artwork. Room décor pays tribute to mid-century sensibilities while including all of the expected amenities, such as high-speed Internet and 42-inch LCD HDTVs. Of particular note are the accommodations with skyline views. For business travelers, there are 12,000 square feet of meeting space and a Presidential Suite for entertaining up to twenty. At the 6,000-square-foot health club, yoga, Pilates and spa services are available. Internationally inspired comfort food is the menu highlight at Habitat Restaurant, while Andys offers more than just jazz and signature cocktails. This bar also displays artifacts discovered during the excavation of the building, including porcelain lithophanes from the mid-1800s.
