The haute Art Déco entry of Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière sits on the couture boutique-lined Avenue George V (opposite the Louis Vuitton boutique) close to the corner of the Champs Elysées — where the original Fouquet's restaurant has been a Parisian landmark since 1898. Architect Édouard François did a remarkable job uniting five Haussmann buildings to create this elegant enclave, and when the assemblage opened as a hotel in November 2006, it reportedly cost over half a billion dollars.
Additional renovations under the expert eye of celeb designer Jacques Garcia give the interiors a sleek look that matches the hotel's elegant renovation. The 81 contemporary Empire-style guest rooms and suites are done in a tasteful bronze-on-white palette. Some of the glamorous, sound-proof rooms (and suites) face the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe; others view the Eiffel Tower. Depending on which suite you choose, seductive extras might include a balcony with a hanging garden or dining area featuring ostrich leather chairs.
House dining is a draw for locals in the know. Fine dining hits a high note at the historic Fouquet's restaurant, serving a signature brasserie menu from chef Pierre Gagnaire. Coveted tables are on the terraces, set on the avenues Champs-Elysées and George V. Opening onto the inner garden, Le Joy is a more casual (though no less appealing) venue offering modern French cuisine. The hotel's history is well-preserved at Escadrille bar, while Le Joy bar is an intimate lounge serving creations from head barman Stéphane Ginouvès.

Spa Diane Barrière features eight treatment rooms (including one balneotherapy room), steam rooms, saunas and a beautiful indoor pool with a one-of-a-kind aquatic circuit of jets, bubbles and counter-current lanes. For those who want a perfect memento of their stay at the hotel, an on-site fragrance boutique sells perfume, candles, dry oils and soaps that include the hotel's signature "Fugue à Paris" scent.
