Great rates and free breakfast balance out the small rooms and this reliable hotel.
Situated on a street of hotels, the Rushmore stands out as being above average both in standards of décor and service. Being close to the Earl's Court Exhibition Centre, it is popular with a business clientele, but handy for tourists too --- just a couple of tube stops from the South Kensington museums and Knightsbridge. Rooms are very basic and terribly old-fashioned, with quilted bedspreads and sparse lighting, and tend towards the tiny side; there's almost no room to move around the beds, but they are good enough for guests who plan on doing little else but flopping out at the end of the day and leaving after breakfast to see the city. The 22 individually designed rooms each come with a private bathroom, direct dial telephone, television, hair dryer and complimentary tea and coffee. Bathrooms are equipped with shower and bath facilities, and all have been recently renovated. The breakfast room has a Mediterranean feel with lots of wrought iron and glass-topped tables. Temporary membership at a local health club can be arranged.
