Austere luxury in a visually overwhelming landscape.
Located in ritzy Polanco, Hotel Habita is the flagship of the innovative Grupo Habita chain, and one of the first hotels in Mexico City to have a rooftop pool and outdoor lounge. If you want to rub shoulders with the city's elite, this is the place to be. When Salma Hayek was filming "Frida" in nearby Coyoacan, she and her co-stars Geoffery Rush and Alfred Molina made sure to stop by the bar for cocktails. The hotel's architects and designers deliberately chose a minimalist design scheme for the 36 rooms in order to give guests a break from Mexico City's overwhelming visual landscape. The decor is white and cream with colorful touches like blue agave plants and parenthesis lamps. Like all of the other Grupo Habita Hotels, Habita has a small but hip bookstore where guests can purchase books that will give great insight into the culture of the city.
