Barnbougle Dunes

Golf course access lures the tee set to these picturesque cottages surrounded by wild sand dunes.

An exclusive collection of two-bedroom cottages make up "The Dunes" at the Barbougle golf resort. Simply and tastefully furnished, each features two flat-screen TVs, a bar fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and, best of all, a private deck overlooking the golf course and the ocean. The 18-hole, championship course, located near the seaside village of Bridport on the island's northeast coast, is open to the public. It was designed by fairway architects Tom Doak and Mike Clayton, who incorporated rolling sand dunes into its layout.

House dining includes the Lost Farm Restaurant, with a menu that showcases local produce, and The Clubhouse at The Dunes for hearty Tasmanian cuisine. The on-site destination spa offers naturopathic health care therapies, HypnoBirthing childbirth education classes and more traditional wellness treatments. Depending on the time of year you visit, you can attend the annual Barnbougle Polo day. For conferences and events, facilities are available for up to 70 attendees.
