An Arizona State University-inspired property uniting whimsy and comfort.
As the name suggests, the Graduate is steps away from Arizona State University, offering not just a place to stay, but “school spirit” as well. Spirit translates not to the sleek soaring geometric design outside, but to the playful interiors, such as a lobby decorated in bold striped furniture and sculpted chairs. Rooms are reminiscent of dorm suites with bright colors, eclectic art and mishmash décor blending leather chairs with American flag-print bed throws. Whimsical touches include 1970’s reproductions like nightstands inspired by retro stereo speakers, and comfy easy chairs. Room options even include “campus view,” as well as the more traditional garden view. Amenities are more upscale than found in a dorm, though, including private patios or balconies with Solair lounges, free Wi-Fi, HD TV, refrigerators, coffee makers and Malin & Goetz toiletries. Two on-site eateries keep hunger pangs in check, with The Normal serving hip diner favorites and Tapacupbo offering Mexican street food and cocktails. There is also a 24-hour fitness center and a swimming pool (you’ll know it by the giant word “pool” stamped on the side of the building).
