A gracious, old-school Arizona retreat that’s been nicely modernized.
Operated by the Williams family since 1966, this is the longest running independent hotel property in Scottsdale. It’s been well preserved on its five acres of lush lawns and mature trees; the 26 remodeled suites and bungalows are done in dark, contemporary Southwestern earth colors brightened with pops of white. Welcome touches include free Wi-Fi, free bike rental, in-room spa services and a lovely pool shaded by 50-year-old Aleppo Pine trees next to a koi pond. It’s easy to spread out here, too, since each bungalow has a dining area and wet bar plus a private patio with al fresco seating, while suites also boast separate living and dining areas with full kitchens. The location can’t be beat, either; some of Scottsdale’s best restaurants are within walking distance.
