Top 10 Boutique Hotels in Phoenix/Scottsdale
An upscale-cozy B&B vibe meets authentic ranch life complete with a horse hotel.
Two casitas and three en-suite rooms in the main house of this property boast rustic-chic touches like iron silhouettes of cattle skulls over the wrought-iron beds, Mexican leather chairs and bath entries draped with Indian blankets. The mood is wonderfully Southwestern, from the adobe wall-trimmed patios overlooking an endless expanse of open desert, to Saltillo tile-framed fireplaces, to various layouts that include sprawling tiled and flowered verandas with private iron grill-gate entrances. This certainly isn’t roughing it, with rooms boasting air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-refrigerators, TVs and microwaves. In addition, mornings see a huge gourmet breakfast that might bring fresh mixed berries in cran-apple cream sauce, homemade coffee praline muffins, black bean-egg-jalapeno wraps and gingerbread waffles. Horses never had it so good, either; they are welcome to stay (for an additional cost) as guests in the three stalls, with attached runs, a lighted arena and easy access to Spur Cross Mountain Area Preserve trails.
