A historic Victorian-era inn in downtown Templeton.
At a quiet crossroads in the wine country, this 19th-century Victorian house is also a registered historic site. There are just five guest rooms with private bathrooms here, and two of them have gas fireplaces. The décor is in keeping with the style of a traditional Victorian B&B, but with fresh modern touches. The Garden View Room has beautiful windows and French doors leading onto a small patio; there's a king-sized bed and a window seat, plus a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. In the carriage house, the Brookfield Room has black-and-white checked décor with some colorful accents, as well as a fireplace. Guests can enjoy a game of croquet on the back lawn. Rates include a full hot breakfast served outdoors on the porch if the weather allows. The host is a talented cook and the overall atmosphere is sweet. The inn is sometimes reserved for weddings and special events. It's perfect for such small gatherings, or as a relaxing weekend wine-country getaway.
