Garden Street Inn

Nostalgic Victoriana in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Garden Street Inn

This polished two-story inn aims for Old-World ambience. It resides in a Queen Anne Victorian home that was completely restored in 1990. Some of the original historic features have been kept, such as the stained-glass window accents in the dining room. Inside the quaint inn there are just nine guest rooms and four suites, none of which have telephones or TVs, but some of which have gas fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. For a country Irish theme, try the cozy Emerald Isle Room, which also has a clawfoot tub. The rustic Valley of the Moon Room has country-and-western décor and a quieter corner location. The Edelweiss Room has a gas fireplace and a deck with views, while the Field of Dreams Room is filled with sports memorabilia. The delightful Our Town Room has historic photos hanging on the walls as well as a Jacuzzi. There's a full hot breakfast served each morning. Rates also include complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres every evening. There's also a library where you can mingle with other guests. Beware of ambient noise from the streets outside, as this bed-and-breakfast is not for light sleepers.
