Irish-styled woodsy elegance inland from the beach.
One of Cambria's most popular B&Bs, guests rave about the quietly romantic atmosphere that's perfect for a weekend getaway. Even without such gracious owners, this distinguished inn would still be a gem. Set amongst Monterey pines and with a historic log home on the property, here each room is furnished with antiques and has its own private bathroom, CD player (with a library of music to choose from), and a real wood-burning fireplace. All of the accommodations are done up in fine Irish country style, with polished wood walls and richly colored carpeting and wallpaper. Some rooms are more spacious than others, and a few have canopy or four-poster beds. The cream-colored Dublin Room boasts a king-sized cherry sleigh bed and window seat, while the Clare Room is the only one in the main log house. There are no in-room TVs or phones, but there is a shared guest telephone. Rates include a full breakfast, as well as evening wine and hors d'oeuvres and bedtime milk and cookies. A two-night minimum stay is usually required on weekends. For activity planning, the owners happily provide a free concierge service.
