Top 10 Bed & Breakfasts
Central Coast (CA)
A private escape in a family-owned vineyard.
Set amongst vineyards and almond orchards, this small bed-and-breakfast has hilltop views of flowering gardens. With just one apartment-style unit on the ground floor of the family's house, it's a cozy alternative to more impersonal motels and hotels located next to the freeway. The rental apartment has its own private entrance and is wheelchair accessible. Inside, the kitchenette has a two-burner stovetop, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. After whipping up breakfast, guests can take it onto the garden patio, reached via a sliding glass door. The bedroom is decorated in elegant French Country style and even has some antique pieces, along with a telephone, satellite TV, and VCR. In the living area, there's a love seat that can convert into a sofabed for an extra guest (maximum three people). Snacks and beverages are set out upon arrival, and for those staying more than one night, a complimentary bottle of local wine. The refrigerator is stocked with drinks and yogurt, while a breakfast basket of cereals and baked goods is delivered to your door daily. All in all, it's a perfect wine country hideaway for romantic couples seeking privacy. There's a two-night minimum stay on weekends.
