Top 10 Bed & Breakfasts
Central Coast (CA)
A nature retreat in the Paso Robles wine country.
Deer graze among the oak trees on this rural property, and frogs can be heard singing by the pond at night. This farmhouse B&B is a welcome change from the more stuffy aspirations of many nearby inns. Located in the carriage house, the guest rooms are luxuriously decorated with Old World sensibilities, such as stained-glass accents on the windows, deep mahogany furnishings and fine linens. Both rooms have queen-sized featherbeds, down comforters, spa robes, and even fresh flowers to give them a more personalized touch. Each also has a private balcony for gazing at the countryside and letting the wonderful breezes in. The accommodations also show off antique furnishings, paintings and other collectibles, some of which are for sale. The Fireside Room has a gas fireplace, while the Countryside Room has a four-poster bed and small loft. Full hot gourmet breakfasts from a European-trained cook are served in the dining room. Guests also have access to the shared living room and kitchen. Spa services are available by appointment. Note that there's a two-night minimum stay.
