Historic lodging with the bonus of hot springs.
Nevermind the hundreds of nearby wineries or the abundance of elegant gourmet restaurants within a fifteen-minute drive. The real attraction at Dr. Wilkinson's is the stuff that attracted John Wilkinson to Calistoga in the first place: mud and old-fashioned mineral water therapies. This part of California is long renowned for its hot springs, and this particular property offers a chance to enjoy them in a historic setting at reasonable rates. Guests can choose from 42 motel-style accommodations with either courtyard or poolside views. Also available are some bungalows and a few small rooms in the resort's original Victorian house. All rooms include TVs and air-conditioning; most also come with mini-refrigerators. At the spa, some of the various treatments include mud baths, mineral steam rooms, blanket wraps and massages. All guests have access to the three mineral pools. Complimentary continental breakfast is included each morning. The property even has a modest meeting room.
