A serene, historic retreat on the Mendocino coast.
The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek is the oldest resort on the Mendocino stretch of the northern California coast. Its opening coincided with the completion of the ‘Shoreline Highway’ in 1932 (now Highway One). Today, the property comprises eighteen cottages and rooms, spread out over nine acres of lush gardens. All accommodations come standard with fireplaces and private bathrooms. Many also include private hot tubs, Jacuzzi baths or whirlpool tubs. In addition, some rooms have decks that look out onto a beautiful garden. Rates include a full bountiful buffet breakfast, use of the inn’s ocean view hot tub in the meadow and access to the Farmhouse parlor with library, videos and games. Guests interested in massages can schedule treatments at the Creekside Spa, a yurt near a creek in a wooded section of the property. For explorers, the coastal towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg are a short drive away.
