A wine country experience reminiscent of the Continent.
John Ash put this small, European-style hotel on the map when he opened his acclaimed restaurant here in 1987. Ash has left the property (it is now owned by the Ferrari-Carano wine family), but the restaurant and hotel remain, situated in the middle of 90 acres of vineyards not far from Highway 101. Today, the hotel comprises four separate buildings, and its 44 guest rooms feature vaulted ceilings and European antique pine pieces. Special touches include bathrobes and nightly turndown service. Suites are larger, with Jacuzzi tubs and expanded living quarters. Homemade breads and coffee cakes are part of a complimentary breakfast, but you're sure to want to visit John Ash & Co. for a full lunch or dinner. Later, stroll along the two-mile path through property vineyards, or relax by the swimming pool outside. In-room spa services are available, as well. For business travelers, the inn offers meeting rooms and secretarial services.
