The Keating

A sexy, unique boutique hotel in the Gaslamp District.

The Pininfarina design studio, known for designing Ferraris and Maseratis, also designed this 35-room boutique hotel in the Gaslamp section of the city. The property is sleek and stylish, but the bold red color scheme is the first hint that this place is unlike any other in San Diego. In fact, the color was chosen to represent passion ... perhaps beginning with the passion Pininfarina and partner Edward Kaen have for delivering a totally urban yet intimate experience. Rooms are incredibly hip and include exposed brick walls, raw concrete flooring, Bang & Olufsen stereo systems, 37-inch plasma-screen TVs, translucent rain showers and personal espresso machines. Beds are decadent --- set up high with wooden headboards, down pillows, duvets and Italian linens. Of note is the Victory Suite, designed by Gordon Ramsay as part of a "Hotel Hell" makeover. On-site Brick & Mortar is a groovy gastropub-style eatery. In the evenings, the hip clientele head downstairs to the basement level to the PCD Dollhouse, a sexy high-energy lounge with table-side cocktail service and burlesque showgirl entertainment.
