Rancho Bernardo Inn
An expansive renovated property that captures the spirit of the Southern California lifestyle.
Three things come to mind when thinking of the Rancho Bernardo Inn (or the RBI as locals call it): classic California style, premier golf and an award-winning spa. Although golf remains a primary focus at this North County luxury resort, a $25 million renovation has forced us to refocus our attention. The décor and architecture remain traditional and tasteful (brown-and-white color schemes, stone-faced fireplaces, antiques and original artwork), while modern perks include wireless Internet access, flat-screen TVs and 40,000 square feet of meeting space with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment. Those not in the business mindset will focus on the sweeping valley views, the PGA championship golf course, tennis courts and the beautiful spa. We love the outdoor garden casitas for hot stone massages to the soundtrack of birdsong and a gurgling fountain. As well, organic scrubs and wraps relax guests with fresh ingredients like sweet orange and cranberry. Chef Nicholas Bour champions California seasonal cuisine in Avant, the newest RBI dining experience, while the bar is a fun casual spot for short rib chili and festive cocktails in a stylish retro setting. The Veranda Fireside Lounge and Restaurant offers great al fresco dining, Mediterranean cuisine with a California twist and live music.
