Seal Rock Inn
A great bargain with ocean views and easy access to the city.
This wonderful oceanfront motel resides in Sutro Heights Park, just a few blocks from the famed Cliff House, Sutro Bath Ruins and Golden Gate Park. It's been around since 1959 and even earned a mention in Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail." Many of the rooms boast beautiful ocean views, and all are fabulously large, making them popular with families. Some have folding vinyl walls to separate the sleeping areas; others have kitchenettes. Most accommodations on the third floor have wood-burning fireplaces, and folks staying in one of these receive a set of oak logs upon check-in. The hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool. Its casual, Mediterranean-style restaurant serves breakfast and a special Greek lunch menu.
