Low rates and access to a nearby hotels amenities are this budget inns best features.
The poor stepchild of nearby Hyatt Santa Barbara (formerly Hotel Mar Monte), this budget inn suffers from an identity crisis. True, it is next to a park --- unfortunately, it’s an unlit park favored by an unsavory clientele. While Santa Barbara is a relatively safe city, this isn’t the best place to be walking around at night, which is precisely what most guests do since the property’s amenities are located a couple blocks away at the Hyatt. Even check-in takes place there. Plush down comforters and low rates are Parkside Inn’s best features, and for travelers with humble expectations it’s a fine place to stay. One of Santa Barbara’s most popular beaches is a short stroll away, and from there you can meander the palm-lined waterfront toward the harbor and Stearns Wharf. Amenities available at the Hyatt include a heated pool and spa, fitness center and the restaurant Bistro Eleven Eleven. Back at the inn, occasional passing trains create quite a rumble.
