An intimate mountain lodge experience in a riverfront setting.
This picturesque, wood-shingled property dates back to 1888. It was rebuilt in 1950 and served as headquarters for numerous diplomats during the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley. Today the lodge takes full advantage of its location on the banks of the Truckee River. Most of the nineteen guest rooms have pine bed frames and balconies with river views; they also feature amenities such as cable television and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Rates include continental breakfast. The lodge's eponymous restaurant sits in a curved dining room that is cantilevered over the water. A second dining area, The Fireplace Room, is available for private dinner parties for up to 50. Additionally, the riverside patio hosts a daily barbecue lunch and is favorite site for weddings. During the winter months, the River Ranch Bar is a popular après ski destination. The lodge is busiest during rafting (June to September) and ski (January to April) seasons.
