Sierra Nevada Resort
Fresh air and natural beauty in a mountainous home away from home.
Situated in the scenic Mammoth Lakes area, Sierra Nevada Resort has a star-studded history. Built in 1967 by Jerry Buss, former owner of the Lakers, it quickly became a watering hole popular with the likes of John Wayne and Jerry Lewis. Current owners Jim and Nancy Demetriades personally renovated the hotel and restaurant. Spacious chalets and rustic lodge rooms offer guests cozy accommodations with flat-screen TVs, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, in-room safes, mini-fridges, microwaves, triple-sheeted beds and complimentary Wi-Fi. Dog lovers can book pet-friendly rooms or pal around with Maverick, the "Canine Concierge." Duke's Bar features signature cocktails and is available for private events. The outdoor Jacuzzi and dry sauna are open year-round, and the Mammoth Rental Shop offers summer bike rentals and equipment for skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Depending on the season, area activities include hiking, bird-watching, wildflower tours, ice skating, snowmobiling and dog sledding.
