A restored Victorian mansion on a bluff overlooking historic Manitou Springs.
High ceilings, huge sash windows, original woodwork and period antiques (including an old piano in the parlor) define the atmosphere in the public spaces in this well-located B&B. It is close to many popular attractions, including Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds and the Air Force Academy. Closer yet are the boutiques of Manitou Springs, selling locally made jewelry, art and clothing. The guest rooms are decorated with antiques from the 1920s and '30s, which create the feel of a rich relative’s summer cottage. All have king-sized beds with feather mattresses and down comforters, fireplaces or pot-bellied stoves, phones and private baths. Some also come with air conditioning. The honeymoon suite is named after President Teddy Roosevelt, a frequent visitor here in the early 20th century. Breakfast is prepared by your host using herbs from the garden; it is served in the formal dining room. Snacks and beverages are available all day.
