Mountain scenery, pine-scented air, spirited horses and icy-clear trout streams.
Since 1946 this 40-room guest ranch has welcomed generations of families---many of whom return year after year. The main lodge is a large log structure where guests meet for meals, music (there’s a grand piano) or to just sit in a rocker on the front porch and take in the view. Some rates include lodging, meals, horseback riding and instruction and a completely supervised program for children. Accommodations range from standard rooms to multi-room suites; there’s also a secluded honeymoon cabin. There are no TVs or phones in the rooms and your cell phone may not work here. If you really need to call or fax out, use the facilities in the main lodge. Families begin each day together with a generous ranch breakfast before jumping into the day’s activities. A hearty dinner (served family style) is often followed by live bluegrass or country music. Winter or summer, the property’s riding program is the focus, with fully supervised instruction geared to all ages and abilities.
