Located in one of the most historic neighborhoods of Greenwich, the Thomas Henkelmann - Homestead Inn is the creation of Thomas and Theresa Henkelmann. Between the two of them they have enough talent to start another dozen inns but are focusing on their baby to continuously deliver outstanding service. The Henkelmanns bought the 1799 landmark in 1997 and renovated it in their distinctive, personal, eclectic style, initially to have a platform for Thomas' haute cuisine. As to the inn itself, in one word, it's luxe. It is also one-of-a-kind in Belle Haven, smack as it is in the middle of a posh residential setting. The farm around which the three-acre property is based allegedly once encompassed the whole area. Today, there are 18 tasteful chambers, meeting space for business and the famed Thomas Henkelmann restaurant, set in three separate buildings—the original farm house and two newer separate structures. While a park, tennis and golf are nearby, we'd love to see a spa on the premises, for a quick holistic-culinary weekend getaway. And indeed the Henkelmanns are not opposed to the idea, planning the addition at some point in the future.
