This contemporary designer hotel befits its sleek setting in downtown Miami.
This highly anticipated addition to the downtown skyline is the second Miami foray from the California-based SLS hospitality group. The soaring, 55-story building, with its dramatic, multi-hued façade, cuts a dashing figure within the emerging Latin-infused Brickell district. Along with 124 guest rooms and suites, the hotel houses a collection of 450 high-end residential condos, along with an acre’s worth of appealing amenities that include public art, nicely maintained green spaces and even a BMW-7 series house car to chauffeur guests within a three-mile range.
Philippe Starck oversaw the property's sleek design and sophisticated décor, and renowned chefs Jose Andrés and Michael Schwartz have established on-site eateries (Bazaar Mar and Fi'lia, respectively), lending the hotel immediate "see and be seen" cred. Bazaar Mar is especially notable for its stunning interior showcasing blue-and-white tile murals. The modern gray-scale look in the accommodations is both soothing and stylish, and amenity highlights include rain-style showers, Nespresso coffee makers and gorgeous city views from private balconies. For relaxation, there are three pools and Ciel Spa, with a full menu of soothing massages, facials and body therapies. Starck is even responsible for the 58,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, ideal for conferences as well as social gatherings and weddings.
