Top 10 Boutique Hotels in Miami/South Florida
Stylish, artful, low-key lodgings showcasing signature suites.
Built in 1936, this 40-room hotel was completely refurbished in 2002. It has retained many of its original Art Deco elements such as terrazzo floors and aluminum fixtures. The bar extends to an outdoor patio for poolside dining. Located on the ground floor is Astor Cuba Restaurant & Lounge, with a menu of classic Cuban cuisine. Although the hotel considers the pricey one-bedroom suites to be its signature rooms, it's possible to rent a small, quiet room in the back of the hotel. En suite marble bathrooms are standard, and all rooms come with Web TV (many with flat screens) and high-speed Internet access. The public spaces include a dining atrium with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening out into the garden area. Outside, a flat-paned vertical sculpture doubles as a decorative fountain.
