Trump National Doral Miami
This beloved old resort thrives under the Trump brand with upgraded accommodations and excellent golf facilities.
An all-encompassing, $250 million renovation was the first order of business after the Trump hotel group took ownership of the former Doral Golf Resort & Spa. Those efforts manifested in the form of four renovated golf courses, a reconfigured clubhouse and the addition of eight villas done up in Spanish Revival style. All told, the 800-acre resort holds 643 guest rooms, 49 resort suites and 48 deluxe spa suites with garden views from private balconies or lanais. Links-wise, famed golf architect Gil Hanse completely upgraded the resort’s courses, including the Red Tiger and the famed Blue Monster. The unique LED-lit driving range has been lengthened to more than twice its original size and boasts short-game practice greens and 40 practice stations. The property is home to the Jim McLean Golf School and the TaylorMade Golf Performance Lab. Eighteen cabanas and a 125-foot slide are highlights at the Royal Palm Pool recreational complex. The 48,000-square-foot Spa at Doral offers more than 100 services, 33 treatment rooms, an indoor saltwater pool and an outdoor lap pool. Additional activities include a state-of-the-art fitness facility, four Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball courts and jogging trails. More than 100,000 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space, including six redesigned ballrooms, position the resort as a preeminent location for world-class events. Dining options include BLT Prime (a traditional American steakhouse), the poolside Palm Grill, Champions Bar & Grill and Marketplace, a sophisticated French patisserie.
