Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
Operated by Starwood, this tropical resort is conveniently located and filled with good eats.
This Michael Graves-designed resort shares many motifs and amenities with its next-door neighbor and sister hotel, the Dolphin. The twelve-story Swan, with its peach-colored façade, light-green wave frescoes and colossal swan statues perched atop the arched roof, provides quite the visual presence. The tropical theme continues inside, with palm trees, peach paint and omnipresent swan design elements (including in the rooms). Although on Disney property, the Swan is operated by Starwood, offering many of the same comforts found in Sheraton and Westin hotels, such as Heavenly Beds. Guests still get complimentary Disney transportation to "World" attractions. In fact, a huge selling point for the Swan is its location between Epcot and MGM Studios, both accessible by a twenty-minute walk or boat ride. Disney's BoardWalk is also only a short walk away, with its variety of entertainment and dining options. There's plenty to eat at the Swan. It boasts an authentic Italian restaurant, Il Mulino, in addition to Kimonos, a popular sushi restaurant. The three-acre grotto pool shared with the Dolphin is reminiscent of the famous Mirage pool in Las Vegas with its cascading waterfall and island landscape. It's worth noting that unlike many Disney hotels, most Swan rooms do not include balconies.
