Locals as well as tourists find this hotel a nice getaway from the crowds of the mainland. They drive over to Sanibel Island for a few days of pampering and relaxation. This is one of those Key West-style resorts that seeks to provide privacy and modest distraction. Some unique touches include the free use of bikes, an on-site lending library and complimentary beach chairs and towels. Guests are also treated to a breakfast basket and coffee delivered to their rooms. Accommodations range from one- and two-bedrooms to suites and cottages, all with dining and living rooms, color TV and VCRs. Many also have full kitchens and private porches or balconies. The heated pool features a Gulf of Mexico view, as does the shuffleboard court. Additional al fresco offerings include a family-friendly outdoor barbecue and picnic tables.
