A hub for music-lovers from around the world.
This is one of the funkiest lodgings around---a B&B with an emphasis on music. Artists of all types come to spend a few nights and play a few tunes. The eccentric, eclectic choice of accommodations ranges from youth hostel-style bunks to suites. All rooms are wired to a collection of 400 CDs, and each comes with a music menu. For 13 years people have been coming to jam, ply their talents and meet other artists. But it’s not just musicians who hang out here. There are sculptors, painters, composers and writers, as well. And of course there are the non-artists who are attracted by the groovy, laid-back nature of the place. The two houses are bathed in lights: red for Little Amsterdam and blue for Little Montréal. The hostel facilities are in a simulated railroad car fashioned around a 100-year-old train depot complete with water tower. There’s a third-floor boardwalk among the trees and even a crow’s nest. A resident graphic artist is always adding new signs and artwork, so the look is never the same. The outdoor Jacuzzi is popular round-the-clock.
