A rustic retreat good for business meetings and family getaways surrounded by mountain wilderness.
From this lodge’s soaring rear window wall, the view of the north Georgia mountains is supremely dramatic. Within hiking distance lies the 729-foot Amicalola Falls, the highest east of the Mississippi River, whose name in the Cherokee language means “tumbling waters.“ The fifteen acres on which the resort sits teem with wildlife, including owls, hawks, eagles and bears. While hiking opportunities abound, nothing is more relaxing than an afternoon in a rocking chair as you contemplate the beautiful setting. Built in 1990, the four-story lodge offers 56 rooms, including four suites; there are also fourteen cottages, two of which are pet friendly ($40 per pet per stay). In addition, there are RV/tent campsites. The entire property is smoke-free. Lodge guest rooms offer Wi-Fi, and include buffet breakfast for two per room. Along with team-building programs for conventioneers, activities include a ropes course and guided hikes. Five conference rooms and a ballroom for up to 500 welcome standard conferences and may also be used for themed events. Fishing and volleyball are on offer, and there is a playground and on-site interpretive programs tailored especially for kids. Nearby golf courses are available. The Maple Room Restaurant offers simple meals with buffet service.
