An inn and spa that has it all: luxury, comfort, views, a quiet environment, a terrific location and great food.
With its 11 distinctive accommodations including one suite, Lucille's Mountain Inn & Spa is a fine example of bed-and-breakfast luxury. Lucille Hlavenka and her husband George opened the establishment in 2001; an architect, he designed the inn to take advantage of splendid views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and Sautee Nacoochee Valley. The couple added a matching full-service day spa in 2005. Jim Matthews and Jerry Morris acquired the inn in 2011 and continue to operate it with the enthusiastic devotion to excellence that the Hlavenkas established. Well positioned near area wineries and art galleries, the inn shows its American Arts & Crafts style to great effect from its perch atop a rise. All rooms have private bathrooms, and rich colors enhance the decorator elements and design accessories. Rooms have flat-screen TVs and king-size beds, and some offer whirlpool tubs, see-through fireplaces and comfortable seating areas, along with luxurious linens. Heated towel racks are a bathroom standard. Main level rooms are handicap accessible and one can be configured with twin beds. The Mountain Suite in the adjacent spa building adds several luxurious amenities, including an outdoor shower (seasonally available) and luxury bathroom with bubble-massage tub. The substantial three-course breakfasts, served on fine china, feature locally grown seasonally available produce. In the evening, a dessert buffet is offered. Either may be enjoyed in the window-rich dining room or outdoors on the deck.
