Urban Oasis

130A Krog St. NE (Irwin St.) Atlanta GA

A unique, contemporary experience from an adventurous, multi-talented, visionary urban developer.

Urban Oasis

Judi Knight bought this abandoned warehouse that now houses not only an ingenious bed-and-breakfast inn, but also a web design/marketing studio for herself and her family. At the time of purchase she was a single mom, and she renovated the spaces and leased out several to creative tenants, keeping the end space as loft living for herself and her kids. Now remarried, she operates New Tricks, a web design and marketing firm, out of a small enclosure within, while husband, Duane Solem, has his office in another off the kitchen. With three beagles on the premises, the atmosphere is dynamic to say the least. Adjacent to the property, a finished portion of the new Beltline gets use from joggers and walkers (best used in daylight hours), and the Atlanta Botanical Garden is just a short walk away. Also on the same street is great dining at three restaurants by star chef Kevin Rathbun. And that's just for starters. The space itself is a vision, with vibrant colors, painted floor cloths and serious modern art, some of it by tenants. Three accommodations are offered, including a two-level loft. Well-behaved children are welcome, but pets are not. Wedding parties of up to 130 persons may be accommodated within, and outdoor spaces may also be used in decent weather. A two-night minimum is required. Parking is off-street in a secured lot.
