Canoe Ridge 2010 Reserve Cherry Street Red Blend

Price: $17 Rating: 14/20 Region: Columbia Valley, Washington Varietals: 54 percent Syrah, 30 percent Malbec & 16 percent Grenache Production: 3,500 cases Alcohol: 14.3 percent Tasting Notes: When Lewis & Clark explored the Columbia Valley in 1805, they likened the land where Canoe Ridge Vineyard now lies to an overturned canoe. Located in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, the estate vineyard was planted in 1989. It was followed in 1994 by a winery in Walla Walla. Purchased by Precept Wine in 2011, Canoe Ridge Vineyard produces about 70,000 cases of wine per year, focused primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. The 2010 Cherry Street Red Blend features bright blackberry and black cherry flavors with just a touch of mocha and nutmeg. On the palate, it is full-bodied and silky. Food Pairings: Burgers, teriyaki chicken, pizza, vegetarian lasagna For more information, visit Canoe Ridge Vineyards’ official website Other Red Blends we have tasted Related Content: Wine and Food Pairing Wine of the Week Reviews New Releases
