Historic charm welcomes guests in a peaceful Volcano village setting.
This cluster of quaint cottages and suites dates back to 1931 and offers comfortable and serene accommodations not far from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The setting is upland, where cool dense tropical forests, thick morning mist and the smell of night-burning fireplaces are the norm. Far from white sand beaches, nightlife and shopping malls, it is the perfect spot to take in nature, relax and rejuvenate. Each suite and cottage is appointed with personality and charm. The two-story Hale Ohia cottage was once the gardener's quarters. Its three bedrooms — one of which has an antique four-poster bed — can comfortably accommodate families. The charming main house has a master suite with antique furnishings, as well as its own entrance and private bath. Three mini-cottages are self-contained, each with a fireplace. The most private of these is the Ihilani Cottage, surrounded by sugi (Japanese cedar) trees. Wi-Fi Internet access is available.
