Hilton Chicago

720 S. Michigan Ave. (E. Balbo Dr.) Chicago IL

An imposing edifice with a superlative history.

This hotel began life in 1927 as the Stevens Hotel. At the time it was touted as the largest hostelry in the world. Today it has been trimmed down and modernized. But with its 1,543 rooms and suites, its size is still quite impressive. It is in a good location, near the city's celebrated Art Institute. All of the accommodations, and especially the suites, are well appointed. Most are spacious, and some even have two full bathrooms. On the hotel's Executive Level, amenities include complimentary wireless Internet and health club access, continental breakfast, private concierge services, and evening hors d'oeuvres with honor bar, soda and water. The property has an abundance of good dining spots, including 720 South Bar & Grill, a classic American grill serving seasonal cuisine, and Kitty O'Shea's, a fun Irish-themed pub. Snax offers a casual setting for grabbing a quick bite to eat. The health club is considered one of the best in the city. A seemingly endless selection of meeting and banquet spaces includes boardrooms, personal dining rooms and ballrooms, making the property perfect for conferences and special events.
