Soho House Chicago

113-125 N. Green St. (N. Halsted St.) Chicago IL

A chic retreat for foodies, artists and entertainers.

Room at the Soho House in Chicago.

London-based Soho House was founded in 1995 as a private club for those in the film, media and creative industries. When it opened in the late summer of 2014 inside a former rubber belt factory, Soho House Chicago --- America’s fourth Soho House hotel, joining others in West Hollywood, New York and Miami --- it too became an exclusive destination for the right-brained among us. Located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, where Oprah Winfrey taped her talk show for 25 years, it's at the epicenter of Chicago’s culinary and arts scene, as this part of town is known for haute cuisine, underground nightlife and urban art galleries. Traditionally, however, it has not been a draw for hotels, which makes this already-distinctive property even more unique. With only 35 guest rooms --- some of which will be reserved for A-list club members --- reservations here aren't always easy to come by. Those lucky enough to obtain a room, however, enjoy access to a 12,000-square-foot gym, a 40-seat screening room, the Cowshed Spa and a 60-foot outdoor rooftop pool. The stylish Club Bar and Drawing Room offer relaxing venues for drinks and casual dining, while the House Kitchen serves deli-style and Chicago-Italian-influenced cuisine.
