Place d'Armes Hotel
Location, location, location in the French Quarter.
Repeat customers return to this 1820's building for the strategic French Quarter location: a stone's throw from historic St. Louis Cathedral and a couple blocks from Bourbon Street, yet private and quiet enough to escape the madding crowds. Guests can relax in one of two courtyards, the front with a pool and bar, the back a Napoleon-style courtyard with fountain, and all with lots of coverage courtesy magnolia and crepe myrtle trees throughout the complex. The seven buildings look historic on the outside with their brick scheme, but the rooms are rather unremarkable, with pull-out sofas and French-style curtains (though the exposed brick in half of the rooms adds to the French Quarter feel). Some have a view of the courtyard, some a view of the French Quarter action, and twenty percent are windowless. Wi-Fi is available throughout. This property is very popular among tourists and families.
