The Olivier House Hotel
A family-run hotel with a relaxed attitude that belies a keen attention to detail.
The Danner family runs this hotel like a private --- and very hospitable --- home. They keep the door to the old-fashioned lobby open to the street, and they welcome all, including children and pets. Décor pays more attention to comfort than grand surroundings. The inn is based in an 1836 Creole town house and incorporates the former stable, slave quarters and neighboring cottage. The 40 rooms range from basic bed-with-bathroom to the split-level Garden Suite. The latter has its own indoor patio and fountain. All of the rooms have private baths, TVs and phones. Kitchenettes are available in some of the accommodations. The courtyard pool is small but pretty.
