Rich East Coast history and small-town charm with unique perks.
Martha's Vineyard offers a sophisticated, laid-back vibe that is reflected in this Gothic Revival establishment. John F. Kennedy visited during a regatta in 1947, and visitors past and present continue to delight in the warm hospitality. The aroma of freshly cut flowers lingers in the guest rooms, which display individual décor accented with four-poster beds, wicker furniture and unique quilts. Unusual for a B&B is the exercise center, with state-of-the-art equipment that includes a sauna and massage facilities. There’s also a small business center and complimentary wireless Internet. A full hot breakfast features items such as omelets and berry pancakes. Afternoon tea is offered as well. Guests enjoy lazing in the outdoor garden area during the summer and in front of a crackling fire in the living room in the off-season. If you want to take a feast to the beach, the inn is happy to provide boxed lunches. Bicycle rental is available, as is a private 27-foot Boston Whaler, complete with USCG-certified captain, for fishing charters, touring or sunset cruises. Children under seven are not permitted.
