Deluxe island accommodations with amenities galore.
A restaurant for boaters in the 1800s, this establishment reopened as an inn in 1988. It is located adjacent to a wildlife sanctuary amid the greenery of Nantucket and offers private rooms or cottages along the seashore. Fresh flowers are ubiquitous here --- dappling the gardens, woven into trellises and bursting from the vase in your room. Guest rooms are done in rich colors and feature pine furniture and intricately stenciled wall decorations, as well as Floris bathroom toiletries. Rooms come with a DVD player, CD player and complimentary wireless Internet access. Should you want to borrow a DVD from the library, don’t forget to order free popcorn. The inn owns two separate private beaches, so you can choose between a dip in the Atlantic or the calmer Nantucket Bay. Clay tennis courts invite a game or a lesson with a staff pro. A full breakfast at the excellent Topper’s restaurant on property is included with your stay, and complimentary port or sherry and cheese is served in the library in the afternoons. Children under twelve are not allowed.
