Golden Lantern Inn
A quiet ambiance in a historic neighborhood.
This B&B is the stuff of local lore. It was built by one of the first presidents of the Red Wing Shoe Company. An abundance of memorable common areas is perhaps its biggest advantage over other accommodations of its ilk. The library is adorned with Mission-style furniture, the living room lounge sets in front of a marble fireplace and the beautiful porch is made of stone. There are also three very secluded patios, one of which houses a fireplace that's kept burning during the evenings year-round. From birch to maple, a variety of natural woods are used throughout. The front entry features a walnut staircase, and the dining room and library display both oak paneling and floors. Five bedrooms include three suites, and some include fireplaces and whirlpools. Evening refreshments and early morning coffee or tea are served in your room. A full breakfast can be taken bedside or in the dining room.
