California Hotel & Casino
Colorful décor that recalls Hawaii's lush beauty.
The owners' purpose when building this island-themed resort in 1975 was to create a comfortable hotel and casino that provides good service, quality food and exciting games to a loyal customer base. They succeeded. Eighty percent of the guests here come from Hawaii --- it's the premier place for folks from the islands to stay and play. Guest room style is pleasant if not altogether interesting. Of the 781 rooms, there are 74 suites for high rollers. The Ohana and Maile rooms offer 5,000 square feet of meeting and reception space. The appropriately named (albeit a bit out of character) Redwood Bar & Grill is adorned with wood paneling, stone fireplaces and country English furnishings. The exhibition kitchen that dominates the 110-seat Pasta Pirate turns out Italian and seafood specialties in a setting that resembles a Monterey fish factory. The popular Cal RV park is part of the property. An enclosed skywalk transports guests across the street to the Main Street Station.
