Fremont Hotel & Casino
The lights still shine bright at this local legend.
The Fremont Street Experience --- along with this particular hotel --- frequently serves as a backdrop for TV shows and movies. As a result, the legendary resort strives to keep up with the times, accommodating its longtime customers as well as with new fans. When it opened in 1956, its fifteen-story tower was the tallest building in the state. Ongoing renovations have provided expanded services, upgraded rooms and imaginative dining. The 447 comfortable guest rooms are decorated with soft tones and rich woods. Satisfying even the most adventurous diners, Second Street Grill is masterminded by Hawaii's revered Jean Marie Jocelyn and specializes in American cuisine with hints of the Pacific Rim. The hotel promotes its ability to create anything you ask for, from small continental breakfasts to sit-down dinners for 300 in its 6,500-square-foot meeting/banquet space. There's a shuttle to the hotel's sister property, Sam's Town, on the Boulder Highway.
