Terrible's Hotel & Casino
A notorious name for a locals-oriented, Tuscany-themed resort.
Inspired by a patriarch lovingly called Terrible Herbst, a popular longtime Las Vegas family bought a defunct hotel-casino, totally remodeled it and reopened it as Terrible's in December 2000. The place has been successful from day one, catering to its customers with an array of poolside parties and an innovative slot club program that earn you points for food, cash, groceries and gasoline. Tuscany-style décor --- with striking, contemporary, warm tones --- is featured throughout, including in the 328 basic guest rooms. Facilities range from an entertainment lounge to a workout room to a gift shop. The pool and its spa are enclosed by enormous California palms, creating a lush, intimate atmosphere. A massive rotisserie serves as the centerpiece of the cozy Bougainvillea Café. This is a budget property that caters to locals and value-conscious visitors. It's approximately one mile from the Las Vegas strip.
