Tropicana Las Vegas
Nicely updated digs at one of Las Vegas's classic casino resorts.
After a massive renovation, including imploding one of the oldest guest room wings dating back to 1957, the Tropicana feels right at home in the 21st-century. At the same time, its original 50,000-square-foot faux Tiffany dome in the casino continues to dazzle. The multimillion-dollar redevelopment continues, adding 600,000 square feet of meeting space, a 100,000 square-foot casino and new retail space; upgrading all rooms by 2012; and completely renovating the spa. The 22-story Paradise Tower offers views of the Strip, and its suites feature private bedrooms, living rooms, refrigerators and wet bars. The Island Tower (near the convention facilities) is connected to the casino by an enclosed walkway lined with specialty boutiques that look onto the lush pool area. The over-sized Island Tower mini-suites feature pullout sofa beds in separate sitting areas. And finally, Club Deluxe Rooms overlook the new pool complex. Dining includes Biscayne steakhouse and Bacio, serving authentic Italian fare. The much-anticipated Las Vegas Mob Experience offers an interactive look at the history of the mafia in Vegas. At the golf desk, guests can make reservations to play on one of the three championship courses at Stallion Mountain, or on the Royal Links, Desert Pines or Bali Hai courses. The pool area is home to Nikki Beach and Club Nikki.
