Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm
A luxurious architectural gem in Albuquerque's lush North Valley.
This elegant small inn sits on a 25-acre organic produce and lavender farm in the verdant North Valley, an area that's within easy driving distance of Old Town, downtown and Balloon Fiesta Park. At the same time it feels completely hidden away from the urban fray. You reach this property down a long, tree-shaded lane, across the street from Albuquerque's esteemed Anderson Valley Vineyards. The main house was built by noted Santa Fe architect John Gaw Meem in the mid-1930s. Accommodations include a mix of standard but expansive rooms and considerably more lavish suites --- there are also two stunning guest houses available. Rooms have beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, colorful Southwestern and Mexican fabrics, kiva-style fireplaces and Mexican Talavera-tilework in the bathrooms. Girard Guest House is filled with fine folk art from Mexico, while La Quinta Guest House comes with its own fully equipped kitchen plus a private patio. Some rooms have Wi-Fi, cable TV and DVD players, and many overlook the beautiful gardens and courtyards. Eggs fresh from the farm are used to prepare the hearty breakfasts, and there's a pool for guest use during the warmer months. This is by far the most sumptuous small inn in the city.
