The Lodge at Santa Fe
Contemporary Southwestern-style hotel with some of the best views in Santa Fe.
It's the only hotel in Santa Fe on the North Side, an easy drive from the famed Santa Fe Opera as well as the wonderful flea market on the grounds of Tesuque Pueblo. But this upscale property, formerly a Radisson, is also less than a ten-minute drive from the historic Plaza and the funky Guadalupe District, making it a convenient option. Even better, its location high on a bluff affords guests amazing, unobstructed views of the verdant Sangre de Cristo mountains to the east, and of the pinon- and juniper-studded mesas to the west (as well as the Sandia and Jemez mountains beyond that). The hotel underwent a major renovation recently, and rooms are looking better than ever, with Southwestern furnishings and all the modern in-room amenities you'd expect of an upscale hotel, including cable TV, coffeemakers, and irons and boards. The colorful rugs are done in the vibrant design of a Navajo chief's blanket, and beds have rustic wooden headboards. Las Mananitas restaurant serves eclectic Southwestern fare and offers those same mountain views, making it a lovely place to stop for a margarita. The Benitez Cabaret, from early June through September, hosts the internationally acclaimed flamenco dance concerts of Maria Benitez.
